Been on an old school pencil drawing kick lately. Did this little thumbnail in sketchbook pro and decided to blow it up and sketch out the details.

Thought I would work on some colour on this guy. I still have a little ways to go but I will just post my progress pics up and just update it as it gets done.

1) roughing in some lights and darks

2) Adding some base colds and warms. Then start some detail cleanup. I usually do this and then mess with texture about halfway through and then just keep coming back to the details with the texture on top.

3) Then i play around with texture a little bit. I get bored easy when painting so i will add texture in to do something different than tightening up details. Generally as well i will play with the hues of the thing form here until the end. Half of the time the end result is not the color scheme i start with.

4) Adjusted lighting here. trying to give a little more focus with lightsource and added a rim light. cleaned up the hair.. upper teeth... eyes a bit...ears...i think thats it.

Sometimes at work i have to process lighting in my level work... so i tend to doodle heads and or other things while i wait. Here's a couple doodles

P.S. i like drawing things with weird teeth.
